We hear that Musk is releasing files showing FBI malfeasance, then we hear that the Twitter official overseeing their release is the consummate insider...and we are supposed to believe that Musk did not know. Good grief.
Yes... I think a *lot* of what Musk is doing is bread and circuses... he is desperately trying to portray one image while all the information suggests he is the opposite of that image. To the degree that I think it is possible that these 'public disclosure' releases are complete and transparent... I don't think we will ever know the whole truth about what is really going on and the degree to which we are really slipping into an Orwellian scifi novel.
The huge investment by Gates and Microsoft in digital identities 5-10 years ago looked completely innocent until countries started using track and trace apps tied to a digital state identity and others like australia started introducing digital identity Bills to track and control your online activities in parliament.
The similarly huge focus in recent years on digital/online harms legislation also sounds entirely reasonable until you see in the background that Universities like Sheffield Hallam, Edinburgh and Herriot-Watt are being funded to develop ways to 'protect' police officers and other public servants from supposed online harms (like being doxxed or attacked online)... that the true focus of these research projects and the online harms bill is control of the masses and is actually to find ways to protect public figures and state employees from their own stupidity (exposing themselves and their families through doing or saying stupid things online) and being able to target, identify and punish the people who dare to speak out against that public figure (i.e. someone outing and identifying a police officer or politician that is abusing the law to harass people for holding views about trans or climate stuff that the mainstream ideology says is wrong)
I had the same experience - locked out since 1/3/23 after posting an old White House statement about the unvaccinated looking forward to a winter of death (paraphrasing). I was instantaneously informed that my account was locked due to suspicious/unusual activity and may have been "hacked". And now, despite my best efforts (I've given them every possible email/phone number associated with the account), they respond that I cannot prove I am the verified account owner and therefore will not allow me to access/reset password. it's almost as if they are getting a sadistic pleasure from my attempts to reset it - so i've responded in kind letting them know their inability to function as rational human beings is most likely due to micro clots and mini strokes suffered due to their 4+ booster status. immature? yes. satisfying? most definitely

Panem et circenses.
Great article! I suppose that Musk could be pro-free speech and now be wondering about his whole world view. We'll have to watch.
